About Huck
Huck (sometimes called Huckleberry Hound) is a goofy, sweet hound who brings a burst of enthusiasm to every day. At about nine years old and weighing around 60 pounds, Huck is easygoing at home—very well-behaved and happiest when close to his people. Most days you'll find him napping but always eager to head out for a walk or dine whenever the opportunity presents. Walks are a favorite: Huck loves to sniff every corner of the neighborhood, though he may become a bit more focused if a squirrel appears. He’s generally quiet indoors, only getting vocal in response to other dogs barking down the street. Huck doesn’t care much for toys but enjoys a cozy bed and will put himself to sleep in his open crate each night. He’s house-trained and respectful of furniture boundaries. Huck genuinely wants to please and should do well in a household willing to give him steady walks, kind guidance, and lots of affection. He relishes any chance for neck and belly rubs, along with a gentle ear scratch. Born March 13, Huck is a true Pisces—big-hearted and deeply loyal. If you can offer a loving home and a soft touch, he’ll repay you with steadfast companionship. PAW adopts in DC, MD, northern VA, and southern PA only. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
