Tanner is a 2-year, 6-month-old neutered male Hound mix with a brown and chocolate coat. He lives with cerebellar hypoplasia and is considered a large dog. Tanner is vaccinated and currently located in Warr Acres, OK. He does well with children and other dogs, and special attention will help him thrive.

About Tanner

Tanner arrived at rescue with suspicions of cerebellar hypoplasia, and his foster, familiar with the condition, welcomed him in. The situation quickly proved more complicated than expected: Tanner began experiencing seizures, and testing in Dallas revealed his entire brain is severely underdeveloped with compensatory hydrocephalus. While this diagnosis is considered non-progressive, it can bring challenges, especially for a young dog. Tanner remains bright, able to put on weight, build muscle, and learn commands and boundaries with good support. He gets along well with other dogs and children and is looking for a home ready to provide him with ongoing care and patience. Cerebellar hypoplasia means his needs are a bit different, but his desire for a safe, loving home is just as strong as any other dog. His journey hasn’t been easy, but knowing what he faces allows his team to give him the best life possible. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
