Winston is still waiting for a committed adopter to give him the home he deserves.
About Winston
Winston and his brother Wally were left in a box on the roadside, labeled 'free.' While Wally found his home quickly, Winston has spent months in the rescue's care, waiting for someone to notice him. Not long after landing in foster care, Winston began having epileptic seizures. Vets have run extensive tests but haven’t pinpointed the cause. Winston is on daily medication, which keeps his seizures mostly in check, and his meds don’t break the bank. Despite everything, Winston is an upbeat, well-adjusted dog who enjoys playing with other dogs, travels comfortably, and is house trained. He’s looking for someone to look past his diagnosis and see the friend he can be. Winston is a good-natured, medium-sized hound who’s ready for stability and care. He is not a fit for homes with children. If you can offer a steady routine and regular meds, Winston deserves a real shot at a permanent family. Winston is in Claremore, OK. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Winston
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Winston, a hound mix, would do best in a home where he can have some space to move around and maintain a routine for his medication. Hounds generally thrive in environments with moderate activity and attentive care.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Winston’s hound background means he enjoys access to a safe outdoor area where he can sniff, explore, and stretch his legs daily. A secure yard or regular walks will help him stay happy and healthy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While hounds can sometimes do well with older children, Winston is not suited for homes with kids due to his medical needs and temperament. Adult-only homes are a better fit for him.
