Pecola was originally found among a group of community cats, but it was clear right away she preferred the company of people. While she loves attention, she can be shy at first and needs time to get comfortable with new faces. Pecola lives with a chest condition called pectus excavatum, which sometimes makes her breathe heavily and gives her the distinct sound of a little lawn mower, according to her caretakers. This hasn’t made her any less playful or affectionate. Head scratches and cuddle sessions are her favorite, and she’ll quickly melt into your arms once she warms up. She’s happiest in a calm environment, ideally in a quiet home where she can relax and bond with her people. While she currently lives comfortably with older cats, she doesn’t care for kittens or young children—too much commotion for this gentle soul.
