Hi, my name is Pecola, it means fragile beauty. I'm a sweet almost 4-year-old girl who has had a bit of a rough start, but my heart is still overflowing with love. I was first picked up with 18 community cats in downtown Brewster to get spayed but since I was a people lover they brought me to ORH. I love attention but I’m a bit shy so it takes me some time to get used to someone new. I do have some quirks about me and have a hard time breathing sometimes since I have pectus excavatum, which means I have an indent in my chest, but it doesn’t make me any less playful. My caretakers say I sound a little bit like a lawn mower. More than anything, I love to cuddle and get attention. I'll purr up a storm the moment you start giving me head scratches and will melt right into your arms. All I want is a quiet, patient home where I can be free to relax and enjoy the solitude with my people. I currently live in a small community with other cats at ORH but am willing to give it a try if you have an older cat in the home just please no kittens or little kids since they are a little too rambunctious for my taste.
