About Small Paul

Make their next chapter their best one yet. Small Paul was discovered as a stray but has quickly settled into the comforts of backyard adventures and cozy couch time with his foster family. This small Rat Terrier mix, weighing just under 20 lbs, is neutered and current on vaccinations. He is both house trained and crate trained, making him an easy addition to your household routines. Although Small Paul may be a bit shy and cautious when meeting new people, patience and treats will quickly earn his trust. Once comfortable, he happily greets you with enthusiastic stubby-tail wags and eagerly snuggles up on the sofa. He prefers to approach new friends at his own pace, often sitting quietly by guests as he assesses the situation. His days are filled with backyard patrol, keeping an eye out for any unwelcome squirrels, rats, or neighborhood cats, and he especially loves tug of war and spirited walks around the block. Treats are his favorite motivator, making training and new tricks a breeze. Small Paul would thrive with a retired person or couple, or in a tranquil home where someone is around most of the time and there isn’t much outside commotion. He needs a home with a secure fenced backyard (a doggie door would be a plus), no cats, and ideally no small children. Though he’s full of energy for play and exploration, he also delights in cuddling and sleeping in with you. Understanding the unique traits of Rat Terriers can be helpful, as Small Paul is ready to become your loyal companion. Adoption is the new adventure! Ready to roll?

Questions about Small Paul

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

This breed enjoys having access to a secure yard for daily play and patrol but can adapt to smaller spaces if provided with regular walks and activities. A backyard isn't essential but is highly appreciated for their energetic nature.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Rat Terriers can be good with older, respectful children, especially when properly socialized. Their spirited personalities may be overwhelming for small or highly active children, and they tend to prefer calmer environments.
