About Pancake

Pancake (also affectionately known as Fluffernutter, Little One, Princess, Pumpkin, or just 'Crazy Girl') is a 4-year-old terrier mix with a long blond coat and more quirks than most. After starting life with 36 other dogs in a hoarding situation, she’s had a tough road. Even so, Pancake shines with her innocent nature, Chewbacca-style yodels, and full-on butt wiggles for her foster mom. She carries toys around the house, loves running laps with a plushie in her mouth, and piles things at the high point of the yard. Sunbathing, Greenies, and quiet yard time with her foster siblings are her favorites. Pancake’s trust comes slowly. She prefers not to be petted at first, may avoid eye contact, and often "plays dead" during harness time. New people and picking her up can scare her enough to have accidents, so be ready for her famous "defensive pooping." Don’t expect a lap dog; at least not right away. She wants to be around her people gently, especially her foster mom, but doesn’t want direct attention until she settles in over weeks or even months. House training is not on her resume—be prepared for regular accidents (particularly on rugs, sometimes even in shoes). She will not do well in apartments and shared walls, as she will bark when left alone. Pancake thrives with other dogs and cats, but chaotic kid-energy is too much for her. She’s not a fan of leashed walks, preferring the comfort of her own yard. If you love a funny, complex little dog who comes with a few extra challenges and a lot of laughs, Pancake is ready for you in Torrington, CT. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Pancake

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Yorkshire Terrier mixes like Pancake do best in calm homes with predictable routines, especially where someone can be around often. Because Pancake finds comfort in low-traffic environments, she's best placed away from noisy or hectic households.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Pancake isn’t much for leashed walks and prefers secure, fenced yards for play and sunbathing. Yorkshire Terrier mixes are small but active, so dedicated outdoor space for safe exploring is important.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Yorkshire Terrier mixes can sometimes do well with gentle, older children, but Pancake does not get along with kids and should be placed in an adult-only home.
