About Patti Smith

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Patti Smith will instantly tug at your heartstrings. Initially timid when found wandering in Oakland, she still sought out the comfort of people, even though she was uncertain at first. Thanks to her foster home’s patience and care, Patti has really blossomed and learned to trust. Her foster family shares that Patti Smith brings so much joy to their home. She’s become a champion napper, always seeking out the plushest and coziest spots to snooze. Her leash manners are wonderful, though the occasional squirrel might tempt her off course, and she’s fully house trained. She can be left alone for five hours and will simply settle in for a contented nap in your absence. She adores car rides—provided there’s a comfy place to curl up—and is endlessly endearing with her routines, like strutting with a new bone before settling in to enjoy it or rolling in the grass when she feels playful. Ultimately, she’s a mellow, sweet companion who warms up and flourishes once she bonds with her people. Patti Smith is still sometimes nervous when unfamiliar people try to pet her, making her best suited to a quieter home with calm routines. About 8 years old and weighing in at around 90 pounds, she is ready to soak up all the love and sunshine (and naps) that a devoted adopter can provide. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
