About Fernando
Meet Fernando! This gentle, quiet senior Italian Greyhound is searching for a cozy couch and a soft spot in your heart. At 11 years old, he moves with dignified calm and prefers peaceful routines. Fernando can be shy and sometimes comes across as aloof, so he needs someone familiar with the quirky, sensitive nature of Italian Greyhounds—especially someone who will give him the patience to settle in at his own pace. He is leash trained and fine with a crate but would rather curl up beside his person. Fernando enjoys both male and female company and could thrive as an only dog or with another confident Italian Greyhound at home. He prefers a low-activity setting and would do best in a home without toddlers or young children; teens and older patient kids may be a fit. Fernando is still mastering his potty habits—he never had a consistent teacher until now—but he’s sharp and making steady progress. He’s up to date on vaccines and recently had a dental cleaning. Sight hound experience is important for his future family. Fernando is in the San Jose area—and ready for someone to offer the security and warmth he's missed for too long.
