Pick up a rope toy or a Kong and he’ll be right there, ears perked, ready for a game of fetch or a goofy round of play. Found wandering the streets of Richmond, Holden easily became a shelter favorite and it’s clear why: he’s affectionate, gentle, and loves to be with people. He’ll crawl across the couch for some in-your-lap cuddles or a good round of kisses. Holden knows plenty of basic commands and is quick to listen, especially if there’s a ball or snack involved. He’ll gently let you know when it’s time for a bathroom run, and his house training is solid. Out and about, Holden is relaxed—he rides quietly in the car, walks well on leash, and manages to keep his cool even at crowded dog-friendly breweries. He plays well with other dogs (though he’s food aggressive around them, so meals need to be separate), and he’s comfortable around kids.
