About Kona

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Kona, an approximately 1-year-old mixed breed with possible Boxador or Pit Bull Terrier and Labrador Retriever heritage. Kona's earliest days in rescue were a learning experience, but he has blossomed in foster care and has made friends with every dog in the house. Although he required some guidance on sharing, he has adapted beautifully and has become a wonderful companion. Kona may seem shy at first, especially around new people, but once he feels comfortable, he’s eager to be your loyal friend. He is easily startled, so a home without very young children and with a securely fenced yard is recommended to ensure he feels safe if spooked. One of Kona’s favorite pastimes is relaxing with a chew bone or chasing tennis balls (though he’ll happily chew them up if not retrieved). Kona is housebroken, kennel trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Kona is being fostered at Noah's Hope Animal Rescue and can be met by appointment only once your adoption application is approved. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Kona

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Pit Bull Terrier and Labrador Retriever mixes, often called Boxadors or similar, thrive in homes where they have plenty of room to move around. They do well in houses with fenced yards where they can play safely.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

A large, securely fenced yard is ideal for this mix. They enjoy regular playtime and exercise, but can adapt to daily walks if yard space is limited.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Boxador and Pit mixes are usually good with respectful older children, but their high energy and strength mean supervision is recommended, especially around smaller kids.
