About Doodle
Doodle is a 10-year-old mini Australian Shepherd who lives for activity, attention, and meaningful engagement. Exceptionally bright and obedient, Doodle thrives when he’s given clear boundaries and consistent routines. He’s fully potty-trained and crate trained, and he knows his commands down cold. His herding instincts are strong—he’ll try to herd cats and smaller dogs when he’s fired up, and he’s highly protective of his territory and people. He’s not the best fit for first-time dog owners; Doodle needs an adopter experienced with herding breeds who understands the energy and mental stimulation these dogs crave. A casual stroll won’t cut it for him—he needs real exercise and enrichment through running, hikes, agility, or herding work. Doodle gets along with small dogs and cats (though he likes to herd them), but he can be reactive with big dogs and should be the only dog over 20 lbs. in his new home. He currently coexists with several dogs and cats in his foster home, handling established boundaries well. Doodle is very loyal, often favoring women, and will need slow, thoughtful introductions to new people. He’s a keen guard dog, and visitors should expect a watchful welcome. He prefers a quiet household with no children, a steady routine, and an owner ready for a highly intelligent, active companion. Doodle is neutered, up to date on shots, and doing well with managed Addison’s disease requiring monthly shots and a daily medication. Born November 11, Doodle is a Scorpio—true to his sign, he’s devoted and sometimes stubborn. Doodle is in Manhattan Beach, CA, and hoping for the perfect match. Make his next chapter the best one yet.

Australian Shepherds like Doodle benefit from a yard or regular access to a safe, open area. A simple walk is not enough—he’ll need room to run, play, and burn off energy every day.
