Cashew is a gentle, 2-year-old Akita mix looking for a home through the Newport Beach Animal Shelter. Although Cashew has masticatory muscle myositis, a rare condition affecting her jaw muscles, she is able to eat and drink comfortably. She does have some trouble picking up toys, but her playful spirit still shows when she gets bursts of energy. Cashew has already learned to sit and lie down, and she’s ready to build on those skills with some continued training. This will help boost her confidence and help her settle in even more.
