About O'malley
This could be the start of something paw-some. O'malley is a delightful Pointer mix who came to Needy Paws after a tough start in life. Although he was once shy and underweight, with some love and care, he has blossomed into a happy and energetic pup. Now about 6 months old, O'malley is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations—ready to start his new chapter. He loves everyone he meets, greeting people with joyous jumps and an eagerness to be close to you—sometimes holding onto your hand or clothes to make sure you stay nearby. His foster family is working on curbing his jumping and teaching him new obedience commands, and he is picking up skills like 'sit' and leash walking nicely. O'malley is house trained and uses potty pads if needed, and while he's kennel trained, he doesn't like being alone for long periods and could get into mischief if left by himself for too long. He would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. This social boy gets along well with dogs and cats (though he may give chase if cats run), and currently sleeps peacefully with both his foster canine siblings and a cat. O'malley does best with older children, so a home with teenagers is ideal, given his excited, bouncy nature. Car rides make him nervous, so a patient adopter can help him build confidence in that area. A family interested in continuing his training will find that O'malley is eager to learn and will make a loving companion. Please note potential adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Needy Paws is a committed foster-based rescue focused on finding perfect forever homes for deserving dogs like O'malley. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
