This handsome 8-year-old boy is looking for his forever home after being rescued from a animal control in southern Illinois where he was at risk of euthanasia. He was transported north to save his life and give him a second chance. According to his foster, Dreamsicle Dexter is a purring machine. He loves attention and just wants a family who will give him endless pets. Dexter seems to have been a solo cat for most of his life - he is not a fan of other cats and would do best as the only cat in a household. He can get very excited about playing, so he may thrive in a family with older children only that will recognize his cues. Dreamsicle Dexter is very curious and loves to climb and explore his surroundings. He would love to spend his days looking out the windows from a cat tower! He is hoping to find a compassionate and understanding adopter - Dexter has special dietary restrictions. He needs to remain on a diet of special SO food due to a history urinary disease - this will help manage his urinary tract health. He is worth the extra effort. He loves mealtime!
