About Bertha
Bertha is a big personality in an even bigger package. After losing her only home due to a family emergency, she landed at the rescue confused and reserved, but it didn't take long for her to show her bold and chatty side. Bertha has a lot to say, especially when it comes to mealtimes—she's never shy about voicing her opinions on food. At over 18 pounds, she needs someone who will stick to a plan to help her reach a healthier weight, even when she objects. She enjoys being pet but will make her boundaries known if you go too far. Her long hair means she'll need regular brushing and sometimes a little help with grooming to keep mats away. While she’ll bat at a toy if interested, she prefers lounging to full-on play sessions. Bertha doesn’t mind other cats much, provided they aren’t too rowdy; she’s largely indifferent to feline company now. She’s at her best in a calm home where she can settle in, soak up attention in reasonable doses, and be the grand couch companion she was born to be. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
