About River And Smoke
River and Smoke are a close-knit pair currently thriving in foster care. Smoke, about a year old, started life as a scared stray but has grown into a goofy, vocal cat who loves having conversations and occasionally perching on shoulders like a parrot. He relishes attention, plays well with other cats, and gets especially curious about dogs. Smoke does best with a slow introduction to kids—he genuinely enjoys their company but may be startled when the noise level rises. He does have a mild grade 2 heart murmur, but it’s stable and easily managed during routine vet visits. River, seven months old, is plucky and spirited—rescued from a car engine at a tiny size, she’s turned every challenge into a triumph. She’s endlessly curious, eager to participate in household goings-on, and her affectionate nature complements Smoke’s gentle side perfectly. River loves being held, playing with anything from cat toys to her young human sister’s treasures, and is especially comfortable around children, seamlessly fitting in with all their activities. Both River and Smoke play nicely with other cats and show interest in dogs, so a gradual introduction is best. Their favorite pastime together is racing up and down stairs, and a home with stairs or lots of exploring space would be a hit. This sweet duo is looking for a forever home where they can enjoy cat trees, cozy lounges, and plenty of love. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
