Summerâs world has shifted a lot in the last couple of years. After losing her elderly owners in a car accident, she spent time in a shelter before finding a quiet life with another senior gentleman. Now heâs unable to care for her, and Summer once again faces unknowns as he prepares to move away. A placement fell through, and her temporary foster is struggling because of a cat colony nearby. Summer is about nine years old, spayed, heartworm negative, current on vaccines, and in excellent health. Sheâs believed to have been a service dog for her first owners, and it showsâSummer is smart, gentle, well-mannered, and tuned in to people. She needs a steady, loving home where she can be the only pet. Summer doesnât do well with cats or dogs, so a quiet, pet-free environment is what she needs next.
