About Lucy

Think you are the one? Submit an application! If you're searching for a sensational senior companion, Lucy is a wonderful Australian Cattle Dog mix born in December 2015, making her a wise Sagittarius—a sign known for its loyalty and adventurous soul. Lucy has a gentle, timid nature at first but quickly warms up and becomes a devoted best friend. She does best in a home with a fenced yard and is typically easygoing with other dogs, though she appreciates space from those who are more forward—an introduction with any resident pets is encouraged to ensure a good match. Lucy is fantastic with children, house trained, and impressively well-mannered, earning praise for her quiet demeanor both indoors and out. She walks beautifully on a leash, is respectful of furniture and household items, and only gives her voice when someone comes to the door. This low-energy, low-maintenance girl follows her person around with endearing curiosity, but is happy to settle independently on her bed. Curious about cats, she gets along well with them, too. Lucy's health needs include a special urinary diet (Purina ProPlan Urinary) and daily evening medications for incontinence—these ensure she's comfortable and maintains her impeccable house training. She doesn't need to be kenneled, but adapts well if needed, and displays wonderful behavior throughout the day. If you want an affectionate, easygoing senior who doesn't require extra training, Lucy could be your perfect fit. She is ready to bring warmth and calm to her forever home. All adoptions are done in person in the Omaha, NE area through Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, a dedicated volunteer-run rescue that provides support to ensure the right match—vetting references and prioritizing each animal's needs.
