He’s a confident, sociable companion, always eager for affection and ready for a comfortable lap.

About Darby

Darby is a small Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a memorable look and personality to match. His short legs and slightly bowed right front can’t slow him down—he still has plenty of opinions and is not shy about sharing them with dogs of any size. Darby came back to rescue at just five months old with an unusual gait, which led to a complex diagnosis and surgery for his leg. His right forelimb remains a bit bowed, and he walks with a limp, but it doesn’t keep him from running outside in the mornings, especially if a treat is involved. He can’t jump up or down but compensates with enthusiastic use of his back legs and a big-dog attitude. He’s crate trained, up to date on core vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and friendly with dogs ranging from his size up to nearly eighty pounds. Darby likes to burrow into his bed under blankets and also enjoys napping in a warm lap, especially when there’s TV to watch. This little guy knows how to make himself comfortable and isn’t afraid to claim a spot or speak his mind. If you want a pup who’s low on drama but high on character, Darby’s ready.
