About Gilbert ... Must Read

Gilbert came into rescue after being found wandering in Miami, underweight and in need of care. He’s roughly 4 years old but still has that youthful energy and a strong puppy spirit. His terrier-mix build is on the petite side—vets think he’s about 32 pounds and unlikely to top 40 pounds even at full size. Gilbert’s apricot and cream short coat and striking eyes make him a real standout. He’s friendly with other dogs of similar or larger size and does well around children, but he might pick on smaller dogs and will need careful introductions to cats. Gilbert is smart but absolutely needs continued training; he is not fully crate trained yet, and his manners are a work in progress. He’ll thrive with an adopter who has a yard (apartments aren’t the right fit) and is patient, ready to invest in his training, and either has another dog or is eager to help him learn how to be part of a pack. He comes neutered, with vaccinations up to date, and would do best with someone willing to keep up his socialization. To be considered, make sure you’ve read all requirements and can provide a textable phone number. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
