About Mercury

Mercury has had a tough road but hasn’t lost his sweetness. He was found huddled behind a snow shovel in Stoughton, WI after escaping the clutches of a bird of prey and being separated from his mother at a young age. Despite a rough start, Mercury’s foster home gave him the time and patience he needed to heal, grow, and let his true personality shine. He’s smart, uniquely vocal, and carries a sassy streak, but deep down, he just wants constant praise and affection. His medium chocolate coat has slivers of silver and gray, and he’s got some permanent, striking scarring on his side from surviving that bird attack. His left eye also has lasting scarring from a herpes virus ulcer, though it doesn’t affect him. Mercury loves company—especially other gentle cats like his foster buddy Stuart. He tends to be shy in new surroundings, so patience helps build his confidence. He seeks out cozy hiding spots until he feels comfortable, but once settled, he’s playful and affectionate. Mercury isn’t a fan of dog energy, but might coexist with a very mellow pup who understands cats. Any home for Mercury needs to have another playful or young cat, or ideally, adopt him alongside Stuart. Mercury’s favorite toys include glitter balls, crinkly toys, lasers, wands, and anything cardboard. He’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/Felv negative. All cats at Misfit Felines Inc live in foster homes. Your adoption comes with a $100 package of goodies at Tabby & Jacks or All Paws. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
