About Mr. Gibbs

Mr. Gibbs came from a house overflowing with other cats—fifty-three, to be exact. Many of them, including Mr. Gibbs, arrived covered in fleas and battling illness, but after some care and patience, he's bounced back and is finally ready for a place to settle down. He is vaccinated, wormed, neutered, and tested negative for FELV, and his adoption fee covers these basics. Mr. Gibbs is FIV positive, which means his immune system isn't quite as robust as other cats, but with good care, he can live a normal and happy life. FIV isn’t a concern for people or dogs and only spreads to other cats via serious bites or mating—so normal play or sharing bowls isn’t an issue. Mr. Gibbs gets along with other cats, so he could thrive in a multi-cat home, regardless of their FIV status. Adoptive families need to meet him in person at the shelter during open hours (12-4, closed Mondays and Wednesdays), and cats must go home in a carrier. Carriers are available for purchase if needed.
