About Virgil
Virgil is a sturdy, smallish American bulldog/terrier mix whoās happiest in a simple, low-key routine. At about 6 years old and 53 pounds, heās settled into himself after shelter life and is ready for a new chapter thanks to time with a loving foster and some solid training. Heās got a mellow side thatās all about loafing at home, sharing the couch during TV time, or soaking up endless belly rubs. But thereās also a playful streak: Virgil never turns down fetch (with almost anything) and adores dipping into pools or lakes whenever he can. Sunday drives or just watching nature from the yard both suit him fine, especially when they involve his favorite people. Virgil learns quickly, loves treats, and enjoys working on commandsāhis happy face says it all when he earns a reward. Heās not a fan of chaos, loud noises, or busy neighborhoods; he prefers quiet and routine. While he can walk past dogs from a distance, he wants to be the only animal in the home. Virgil requires a single-family house with a privacy fence. Homes with frequent dog walkers or young kids are not a match, but older teens could be a fit. With patience and gentle time, youāll see him flourish. Start your journey together! Apply now.
