About Venus
Venus is a smart, independent dog who’s really come into her own now that she’s out of the shelter. She’s completely housebroken, loves to ride in the car, and burns off energy by zooming around the yard before relaxing on her own. Venus enjoys her independence and is comfortable spending time by herself, so she’s a solid match for someone who values a confident, self-sufficient companion. Leash walks are a work in progress—she’s strong and needs consistency, but you’ll see improvement with regular effort. She’s dog-selective: Venus gets along with a few canine friends but always needs slow and careful introductions, especially if she’s in a stressful or close environment. While she was on anxiety medication in the shelter, she’s made notable progress in a settled home without the meds. Venus has a unique gait and will sometimes bunny hop with her back legs, but this doesn’t slow her down outside the kennel. The ideal home for Venus is quiet, adult-only, and secure, with no other pets. She’s playful, affectionate on her terms, and will thrive with the right balance of structure and freedom. How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Venus will appreciate a fenced yard where she can sprint and play safely. While walks are important, she benefits most from having room to move freely and burn energy during yard time.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Pit Bull Terrier/mixed breed dogs like Venus can be good family companions, but, in her case, an adult-only household is recommended due to her preference for quiet and her selective social nature.
