PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION: • Female Shih Tzu/Terrier Mix • 9 years of age - solid 19 pounds - silky fur. • Spayed, microchipped, house-trained, and in fabulous health. • Loves daily walks, going for drives, playing with balls and toys, and is curious and explorative. • She’s motivated by food, adheres to commands, is easy-going, and can be very well-behaved. • She's a great barker, as she doesn't hesitate to voice her opinions at dudes, strangers, bikers, joggers, and neighbors… including delivery drivers. But she’s a dog. And just like humans, she doesn’t have to like everyone. LOL! • As active as she can be, she’s also calm and cuddly. • Loyalty is her specialty. So, although she can mind her own business, she'll prefer to give you kisses, stay with you constantly, and be your everything. Layla is the sweetest, most darling girl with those she’s closest to and trusts the most. Yet, she isn’t the type of dog that will be people and pet-friendly everywhere you go. Due to her past, Layla is quite selective. Sometimes, her introductions can come with a few love nips. But that’s her personality and the way she plays. Once she warms up, she’ll roll over for you to rub her belly. If she doesn’t like you, she’ll show it instantly. She’s not fond of small confined spaces, locked crates, crowds, or separated by barriers. BUT who is??? And although Layla has lived with different types, ages, and sizes of animals… she’s also had a few scuffles. These are all past stories and we have plenty of photos, videos, and testimonials to show what a special soul dog she is and how positively impactful a loving environment is. We’re looking for an experienced, loyal adopter who wants a soulmate... not a convenience. Someone who works from home, or is retired, with the flexibility and time to interact with her, take her on adventures, and share life together. She loves the outdoors, so a large enclosed yard would suit her best. Yet, no small children or unruly pets. There's no guarantee how any doggy will react in a new setting, with or without new siblings. It can be scary and the unknown doesn't always feel so good in the beginning. So please be patient and committed to her. Her purpose here is so much bigger than just being in a furry costume with 4 paws.
