She's almost 10 years old but moves like a much younger dog: playful, energetic, healthy, and always curious about the world. At a solid 23 pounds, she's not the dainty lapdog you might expect. She loves walks, car rides, tennis balls, and the chance to be outside when the weather is nice. Layla is house-trained, leash-trained, doesnât shed, and picks up new routines quickly. Indoors is her home base, but she craves a secure yardâshe jumps high and will need solid fencing. Sheâs deeply loyal, and if she chooses you, she wants to be your priorityâshe isnât interested in being left alone for long stretches or just occupying space alongside other pets. Terrier instincts mean sheâs alert, can be vocal, and is selective about people; strangers, joggers, and delivery folks may be met with barking. With dogs, she generally gets along but does best with companions her size or larger; little kids and small pets arenât a fit. She isnât keen on tight spaces, heavy crowds, or confinement, and sheâs happiest in a stable, low-traffic home with an adopter who has real dog experience and lets her be herself.
