About Maggie May Sponsored
Meet Miss Maggie May, a 7-year-old Beagle mix with a deeply sensitive heart. Maggie weighs about 30 lbs and has been through a lot—she suffered abuse as a puppy before finally finding safety. For the last six years, she lived peacefully with a single woman, building slow trust, only to lose her home when her person became ill. Because of her early traumas, Maggie needs a truly calm, female-only home. A gentle, quiet environment, such as with an elderly woman, would suit her best. She doesn’t handle noise or commotion well, becomes overwhelmed quickly, and may nip if startled. She isn’t a fit for families with children or loud, boisterous dogs, but she’s done fine with laid-back cats and calm, smaller dogs at the center. Trust with men is very hard for Maggie, so her adopter must be female. Maggie was housebroken in her previous home and, with a little patience and regular routine, she’ll settle back into those habits. She’s up to date on vaccines and has been spayed. Maggie is looking for one special person to believe in her again—a soft place to land after such a rough start. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
