I was lucky to spend a day with Loaf, an adorable and affectionate girl who was featured as pet of the week on Live at 9 on November 7. Loaf was so calm when I met her and she easily let me put a harness on her. She jumped into my back seat and we were ready to go. She liked putting her front paws on the center console and leaning her head next to mine. She also would gently accept treats. We parked outside of a dog park and she sniffed noses with 2 dogs through the fence. Her tail wagged as she quickly moved on and we started our leash walk. Loaf is a Joy to walk with. She never pulls and takes her time to explore smells. She was non reactive to people and dogs who walked by. She only pulled toward a small dog who pulled toward her. When I sat down she immediately put her head on my lap so she could be petted. She stayed there as long as I would pet her. She ignored bicycles passing her by as she enjoyed the attention. She is an excellent dog to take a leisurely walk with and sit and enjoy her company. We went back to the dog park and went into an empty fenced in park. She met a Great Dane on the other side of the fence and sniffed noses. Another dog started to bark and she barked back with her tail wagging. When I walked away she turned around and followed me. She was slightly interested in toys that I tossed but mostly enjoyed walking and sitting with me. She also enjoyed giving me gentle stand up hugs. Our next stop was Bass Pro shops and she walked excellently in the store. She walked perfectly past people and other dogs giving everyone their space. When we rode the elevator she backed away from the glass as we moved. She behaved so well among new sites and people. When we left the building she relieved herself. She had no accidents the whole day so she may be housetrained. We next went to Crosstown Concourse. I bought her a MemPop as she waited perfectly in the store. She walked calmly with me as I held the MemPop to find an open sofa inside. She ate the MemPop quickly and then jumped on the sofa with me to be petted and hugged. She ignored the other people sitting and walking. She is the perfect companion to bring along on any adventure. The employees at Northgate complimented her on what a loving and gentle girl she is. As she went back to her kennel she looked at me twice as if to say thank you. Loaf is a perfect dog to take different places and then cuddle at home.
