About Smudge

They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Meet Smudge, a 34 lb, 2-year-old female who is a whirlwind of fun and full-grown spirit. Smudge is compact but mighty, with boundless energy that makes every day an adventure. You’ll find she’s absolutely hilarious and has a personality that will brighten any home. Her top passion is toys—no other dog enjoys them as she does. However, due to her history, Smudge needs to be an only pet and isn’t suited for homes with other dogs, cats, or young children. She thrives as the sole focus in a household, and her happiness comes from undivided attention and a stress-free environment. Because she has a high prey drive, she requires a fenced yard with privacy to keep her calm and protected from outside distractions. She’s truly all the dog you’ll need! Smudge’s early life was tough, having survived being chained before being rescued and receiving much-needed veterinary care. Now, she’s a shining example of resilience—goofy, playful, and eager for affection. While she hasn’t yet lived in a foster home, she does wonderfully in a boarding environment, where she's easy to manage and eager to please once a routine is in place. Smudge is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on her preventatives. She’s quick to learn expectations and ready to bring sunshine into your world. Start your journey together! Questions about Smudge

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Pit Bull Terrier/Chihuahua mixes are adaptable and can thrive in both apartment settings and homes with fenced yards, as long as they receive enough exercise and stimulation. They do best in homes where they are the sole pet due to their high energy and potential prey drive.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

This mix enjoys having access to a securely fenced outdoor space, but can also do well in apartments if given daily walks and indoor playtime. Privacy fencing is recommended to prevent outside triggers from causing stress or overexcitement.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Due to their spirited personality and prey drive, Pit Bull Terrier/Chihuahua mixes are generally best in homes without small children. Supervision and proper introductions are essential if children are present.
