About Mingo

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Meet Mingo, a sweet and sensitive 80 lb yellow Labrador Retriever around 7 years old. After being abandoned on a dangerous road in the brutal summer heat, Mingo had every reason to distrust people, but with time and patience, he has blossomed into a loyal, affectionate companion. Once rescued, he was initially wary and fearful, but with the love and care he's received, Mingo has learned the joys of being an indoor dog and now craves gentle affection, belly rubs, and cozy naps with his humans. Mingo gets along well with other dogs, especially those who give him space and approach calmly, as quick movements or being rushed still make him nervous. He is also wary of small children and loud environments, thriving best in peaceful homes where transitions are slow and understanding. While curious about cats, he hasn't shown any aggression. Mingo is housebroken and crate trained, making him a wonderful candidate for a calm "retirement home" where he can enjoy routine, patient love, and plenty of treats. He is currently with Mercy Sakes Rescue in Tulsa, OK, but is adoptable anywhere in the United States. Mingo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and receiving heartworm treatment, making him healthy and ready to find his forever family. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
