About Nuka

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Nuka’s story is truly one of resilience. He was found abandoned in North Tulsa in the summer of 2023 and spent a year evading people, surviving on his own despite the dangers. When he resurfaced at a feeding station, he kept a safe distance, but after months of patience and trust-building, he was finally brought to safety. Nuka arrived with heartworms, a tick-borne disease causing painful joints, plus parasites and a deep fear of humans. Over time, with gentle care, he realized he was finally safe, and his sweet personality started to shine. Nuka is now neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, healthy, and at his ideal weight. He is kennel and house trained, and while he hasn’t lived in a home yet, he’s ready for a foster-to-adopt arrangement. Nuka loves food and belly rubs, prefers to keep his paws dry, and isn’t a fan of the cold. He’s calm, a bit shy, and very well behaved. He gets along with other dogs, especially those who are calm and confident, and would do best with friendly canine companions who respect his space. Nuka is at Mercy Sakes 2nd Chance Dogs in Tulsa, Oklahoma, currently staying in boarding, and is searching for a loving foster or adopter to offer him a new beginning. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
