Nala is a brindle mastiff and lab mix with a short, easy-care coat, estimated at about four and a half years old. She’s around 65 pounds, confident with kids, playful with dogs, and happiest in a home without cats. At first, she’s shy and reserved, especially around new people and in new situations, but she reveals her deeply affectionate, loyal nature once she warms up. Nala is protective, especially of her people—she prefers women, though she gets along just fine with her foster dad and the kids in her foster home. Her heart belongs to her family and she just needs a little time to trust. She does best in calm homes without a revolving door of visitors, or with someone who’s able to give her a quiet spot to decompress when company comes over. Nala is leash trained, house trained, crate trained, and reliably knows her “sit” and “down” commands. She’s very food motivated, making her easy to teach.
