About Cooper
Cooper was pulled from a tough spot in Houston, found with his siblings after animal control only captured the adult dogs. Since being rescued, he’s come out of his shell, especially around other pups. Cooper is about four months old and likely to become a big dog—rescuer estimates say 50–60 lbs full grown, and he looks most like a Plott Hound mix. His short coat is a brindle mix of brown and cream, and he’s already neutered and vaccinated. Cooper is mostly potty trained but will need some help finishing up his training. He’s playful and curious, though a bit on the shy side even after months of fostering—probably an after-effect of growing up in uncertain circumstances. He loves other large dogs and plays rough, so a home with a confident, older dog and a big, secure yard would be ideal. Small pets and young children aren’t the best match; Cooper might knock them over without meaning to. Landlord restrictions often apply to large breeds like him, so only apply if you’re ready to offer real stability. Cooper’s playful, affectionate nature shines through once he’s comfortable, and he gets along well with other dogs his size. He’s looking for a family that understands large, active dogs and can give him the consistency he’s missed. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Cooper
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Cooper, as a large Plott Hound and Mountain Cur mix, thrives in a home with space to roam and a secure, fenced yard. These hound types do best in environments where they can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A large, securely fenced yard is best for Cooper’s breeds. Plott Hounds and Mountain Curs are energetic dogs who need space to play, explore, and burn off energy each day.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Cooper would do well in a family with older children who understand how to interact with playful, energetic dogs. Because he can play rough and is still young, small kids aren’t recommended.
