Weighing in at about 70 pounds, Herbert is excitable and eager to please. He’s mostly quiet, cleans up after himself, and shows no aggression, though occasional bouts of gassiness add to his quirky charm. It’s likely Herbert wasn’t properly socialized when he was young, so he gets overstimulated easily and has absolutely no control over his happy, especially when getting attention! Personal space is not his forte, and he may be mouthy, but he’s steadily improving with impulse control training. Herbert would thrive in a home with a single person or couple who appreciate an endlessly entertaining dog and don’t mind a little roughhousing. He’s kennel trained, not destructive, and doesn’t bark excessively, though dinner time might bring out his signature pterodactyl impression. He’s not the best fit for households with young kids under 8 as his excitement can be overwhelming. He is heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives, neutered, and had excellent dental care in the past. His adoption fee is sponsored to approved applicants, and he’s also available for foster.
