About Izzy
Izzy is two years old and comes from a unique blendâhalf chihuahua, half puginese (her father was a pug/pekingese mix). Sheâs tiny, about 6-8 lbs, and has a soft, medium-length tricolor coat. Izzyâs past wasnât easy. She arrived at the rescue with severe anxiety, likely from isolation or neglect. Despite her trauma, Izzy never responded with aggressionâjust fear. Over several months of rehab with a dedicated foster, she shed some of her terror and learned to cautiously trust her humans. She loves slow, gentle attention, and nuzzles for petting once she feels safe. Move too fast and she startles, but sheâll settle into your lap, content to burrow under pillows and peek out. Sheâs not house-trained yet but does well with potty pads and is slowly learning the routine of walks. Izzy needs a calm, quiet, adult-only householdâideally with someone home most of the day, like a retiree or someone working remotely. No other pets or children. Previous experience with extremely shy or traumatized dogs is essential; she is not a candidate for first-time owners, busy families, or anyone expecting her to change dramatically. Any adopter must meet Izzy where sheâs at, respecting her progress and limits. Her adoption fee is set at $700 to ensure her medical costs and future rescue work are covered. Izzy isnât for everyone, but with patience and understanding, sheâll become a fiercely loyal and loving companion. Click apply to start the adoption process.
