About River Leigh
River Leigh is a two-year-old mountain cur/American bulldog mix with a short brindle and golden coat. She arrived at the shelter in rough shape, having lived confined in a house with other neglected dogs. River Leigh was basically feral at first, but with time and patience in the shelter, she has made noticeable progress. Although the shelter hardly makes things easy for a dog who started out anxious, she’s managed to adjust and come out of her shell. With other dogs, River Leigh does well and shows no food aggression, blending in with just about any canine companion. She's also good with children, though she clearly does better with older kids—loud, younger children tend to stress her out. River Leigh’s had a tough start, which is why she deserves a soft landing with someone willing to see her potential. She's spayed, fully vetted, microchipped, and her adoption fee is sponsored by a local resident. Give her a shot at the kind of future she’s never known. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
