About Oscar
Oscar is a handsome, small Yorkshire Terrier who started out in a southern puppy mill and is now learning to enjoy home life at seven years old. He weighs about 11 pounds and sports a long, black and tan coat. Oscar can be skittish with people—quick movements and loud sounds put him on edge—but he's relaxed when lounging or exploring the backyard. He prefers to roam the house freely and is more comfortable with a belly band than being crated. Oscar gets along nicely with other dogs and feels most secure with a confident, calm canine companion. With humans, Oscar isn’t one to snuggle on the couch, but he finds comfort in simply being nearby. Because of his sensitive disposition, a quiet, adult-only home is the best fit. He hasn't had experience with cats. Oscar needs a securely fenced yard and a patient family ready to give him the space and time to settle in at his own pace. He isn’t yet comfortable on leash, so off-leash backyard exploration suits him best. Oscar is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and on all the necessary preventatives. He’s being fostered in Watertown, WI by Ma Paws & Me Pet Rescue. With patience, Oscar will keep gaining confidence and adapting to real home life. Start your journey together! Apply now.
