Look at this handsome boy! Oscar began his life in a southern puppy mill. He’s a 7-year-old Yorkshire Terrier weighing about 11 pounds, and he’s learning what it means to feel safe and comfortable in a home. Oscar isn’t a fan of the crate, but he does well when allowed to roam the house, though he does need a belly band. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine company. With people, he can still be a bit cautious—quick movements or loud noises startle him, and he isn’t a snuggler. What he does love is relaxing around the house and exploring the backyard at his own pace. Because of his sensitive nature, Oscar would do best in a quiet, adult-only home. He hasn’t been tested with cats. He will require a securely fenced yard, as he is not comfortable on a leash, and a confident, calm dog companion who can help show him that people can be trusted. Oscar is an independent little guy who needs a patient, understanding family willing to let him adjust in his own time. With the right home, this special boy will continue to grow and shine. He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, and current on flea/ticket and heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $350.
