About Oscar

Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Oscar, a striking Yorkshire Terrier ready to find a safe and loving forever home. At 7 years old and weighing about 11 pounds, Oscar is learning the joys of home life after spending his early years in a southern puppy mill. He's not particularly fond of being crated, but he behaves well when allowed to roam freely around the house, although he does need a belly band for added security. Oscar gets along very well with other dogs and genuinely enjoys their companionship, making a canine friend an ideal addition to his new home. With people, Oscar still shows some caution—quick movements and loud noises can easily startle him, and he isn’t the snuggly type. Instead, he prefers to relax and explore the backyard at his own pace. Due to his gentle and sensitive disposition, Oscar would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home. While he hasn’t been tested with cats, he absolutely benefits from having a calm, confident dog companion to help guide him. Oscar isn’t comfortable on a leash, so a securely fenced yard is a must for his safety. He’s an independent little soul who needs a patient and understanding family willing to let him adjust on his own timetable. With support and love, Oscar will continue to blossom and become a wonderful companion. Oscar is available for adoption through Ma Paws & Me Pet Rescue in Watertown, WI. He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. All dogs with this rescue live with foster families. Meetings are arranged by appointment only after your adoption application is approved. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
