She’s approximately 1-2 years old, medium-sized, and currently living in Carrollton, VA. Maisy is spayed, house trained, and up to date on vaccinations. About Maisy

Maisy was found on the roadside, underweight and scared, but she hasn't lost any of her puppy spirit. She’s about 1-2 years old and carries a lot of energy that needs direction. A stable home with routines and structure will help her thrive. If she doesn’t get enough activity or stimulation, Maisy tends to chew, so daily exercise and mental engagement are musts. She enjoys a daily mile-long walk with her foster and is already reliably house and crate trained. She’s spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. Maisy’s ideal home will be with people who have time for her, and who are committed to her ongoing training—she already knows sit, down, and paw, but is still working on leash skills and manners around counters and jumping. She is very food motivated, quick to learn, and eager to please. Blueberries are a favorite, and she’ll help herself from the bush if you have one. At around 40 pounds, she doesn’t quite realize her own strength, often curling up in her foster mom’s lap for pets. She gets along with other dogs, but plays a bit roughly with small ones, so a home without small dogs is best. She hasn’t been tested with cats, and her energy means she’ll need a secure six-foot fenced yard. Maisy’s foster family would love to keep in touch with her adopters if that’s welcome.
