About Callie
Callie is a Catahoula and cattle dog mix with quite a bit of personality and spirit. She’s been part of her family for over five years but now needs to be the only dog in the house. Callie is initially cautious around new people, but once she gets to know you, she'll take all the attention you’re willing to give. She is house trained, enjoys lounging on couches and beds, and may steal a blanket if you aren’t careful. Most of her play is relaxed—she’ll bat her paws around and likes a little light wrestling with those she trusts. Sticks and bones keep her entertained for hours, and she’s happy just hanging around with a chew all day. She walks well on a leash with encouragement, but she doesn’t enjoy meeting other dogs and will bark when passing them. Callie does not get along with other dogs or cats, and she is not a good fit for small animals. She does, however, love kids and is gentle, even allowing treats to be fed to her by young children. She’s kennel-trained but prefers not to be in one. Chewing isn’t her problem—unless there’s a toy or bone involved—though she used to go after stuffed animals, she’s lost interest over the years. Treats and food are always on her mind. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
