At nine months old, this young guy is still learning about the world and takes a thoughtful approach to new experiences. Meeting new people, he tends to hang back, letting his canine friends take the lead, but give him a little time and he’ll be accepting treats and joining the fun. Petey particularly thrives with other dogs. His ideal home absolutely must have a friendly, confident dog to help guide him and boost his confidence. He does best with patient adults or families with children over twelve, given his shy and observant personality. Petey is currently living with both a dog and a cat in his foster home. He’s fine with feline roommates and looks up to his canine foster brother—together, their morning wrestling matches and zoomies are a daily highlight. He’s learning fast: potty training is going well, the crate makes him feel safe, and he’s started enjoying games of fetch. Snuggle time is his reward for bravery, and he loves a good butt scratch in a cozy spot by your side. Petey’s looking for someone who appreciates a gentle, slow-growing bond and finds joy in subtle breakthroughs.
