About Ernie

Born on June 13, 2021, Ernie lives in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and brings a lot of spirit to the room. His history isn’t all sunshine—he showed up at the ER with serious symptoms in June 2022, quiet and ill, with no clear diagnosis. After a lot of rest, a few new foods, and steady care, Ernie made a full turnaround. Today, he’s a healthy orange-and-white character who blitzes around with his toys and often seeks out human company. He’s about as easy-going as they come, sometimes a bit too relaxed. His manners need a little work; he’ll grab at hands for playful love bites and isn’t shy about roughhousing, but he knows when to stop if told firmly. Ernie craves a family that appreciates a rambunctious, affectionate cat who’s sometimes more goofy than graceful. His adopter will also receive a hand-painted watercolor portrait in his honor—a thank you for giving this special guy a home. All vaccines are current, he’s neutered, and he’s tested negative for Felv and FIV. Please note his future should be strictly indoors, and declawing is not permitted by the rescue.
