About Duke

Duke had to leave his elderly owner but not because of anything he did wrong. At five years old and weighing in at 64 lbs, he's got the classic Labrador energy and attitude. Duke lights up around people—he’s open-hearted with most humans and usually gets along with children too. While he generally does well with dogs, he prefers larger, lower-energy companions and can be a bit selective in his canine friendships. Duke is leash trained but still learning some impulse control, so a patient handler and a bit of ongoing training wouldn’t hurt. He currently shares his home with other dogs and kids, and his ideal setup would be a house with a big yard and a dog sibling on the larger side. There’s a medical issue being monitored and Duke might need occasional medication, but he’s currently active and happy. Only local adoptions are considered—within two hours of the Tricounty area—and there are a few process details if you’re interested in adopting Duke, particularly around vet references if there are health issues or the animal is younger than three. Give Duke the big yard and loyal friends he deserves. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
