She's a little timid, spending much of her life quietly taking note of her surroundings, making sure each person is a friend before she opens her heart. Imagine how precious it is to receive a kiss from her—yes, she's come that far! But it's taken time, care, and lots of snuggles from her foster mom to get here. While Lena has faced the unimaginable, she’s ready to live her best life now, filled with warmth and gentle play. 🧡 Her journey began at a mere 9 to 12 months old, when she was abandoned and found in critical condition, pregnant, and in need of care. Heartworm, hookworm, and coccidia positive, and in a world of hurt, Lena gave birth to precious pups, pouring every ounce of her love into them amidst her own suffering. Although most of her babies did not survive, she showed fierce protectiveness and nurturing instincts, proving to be a warrior once she was safe in her foster home. The deep bond she shares with her foster mom speaks volumes. 🐾 Though she has overcome many challenges, Lena still has some fears, particularly around men, due to her past. This is why she would thrive best in a home with a single woman who has plenty of time to dedicate to her—and don't worry, a kind man can be okay if he shows his gentle side! As for kitties? She hasn’t met any yet, so it's a question mark! She would very much enjoy having a calm doggie friend to snuggle up with, though! Lena loves her routine; she graciously follows it daily — even potty time is a part of her rhythm! Squeaky toys bring her joy, and she has an affinity for healthy munchy bones. Food, you ask? Well, after some trial and error, she found a dry food that her tummy loves, not to mention the fresh chicken and veggies her foster mom prepares just for her! 🍗🥦 It’s certainly a feast fit for a queen—as every dog should know! Almost back to her full self after a healing journey with all her veterinary needs almost wrapped up—expect her final checkup and heartworm treatment by early December. Lena can’t wait to find her forever home, where she can fully blossom with love and trust.
