Thomas
AvailableThomas is a male Shar-Pei with a short blond and cream coat currently located in Scottsdale, AZ. He is house-trained and has been neutered. Thomas has no lingering special needs but does require continued treatment and monitoring for Valley Fever, which the rescue will cover for his adopter.
About Thomas
Thomas landed at the rescue after a tough startāpulled from the euthanasia list at the county shelter in August 2023. When he arrived, he was painfully underweight, weak, and barely able to move. Severe pneumonia nearly took him, and diagnostics showed he was battling both aggressive valley fever and fungal osteomyelitis in his bones. Since then, Thomas has made a steady comeback with dedicated medical care. His pneumonia cleared, his weight rebounded, and his outlook brightened, though the Valley Fever means heāll need ongoing medication and routine monitoring. These days, Thomas soaks up comfort in his foster home. He loves sharing space with his foster parents, sleeping between their legs or bundling up in pajamas at night. Other dogs and cats are fine by himāthough his priority is always close, quiet time with his people. Thomas is house-trained, leash-trained, and picking up basic cues. He moves a little slower and prefers shorter walks, so a calm home without kids and someone around most of the time suits him best. His condition isnāt contagious, and the rescue covers rechecks and medication during the transition. Thomas is ready to leave the rescue chapter behind and settle with a family of his own.
