About Hardy

Hardy had a rough start as a backyard dog, but these days he’s intent on making up for lost time as a committed bed hog. He’s been waiting almost a year for his forever home in Beverly Hills, CA. Hardy isn’t the fearful pup he once was; now he approaches new people and experiences with cautious curiosity. He keeps firm boundaries and needs time to trust, but when he does, he’s loyal and affectionate. Inside, Hardy spends his days closely watching the world from behind a screen door, playing tug or fetch, and retreating to his crate when he’s ready to rest. He’s independent, a little introverted, and craves structure and peace. Hardy knows basic commands like "sit," "shake," and "go" to his crate, is picking up on "leave it," and handles walks surprisingly well. He’s crate trained and accustomed to apartment life, comfortable with up to 8 hours a day in his space—so continuing his crate routine is a must. Hardy is playful (expect talking back and an endearing howl) but needs a calm, child-free home. He does not get along with cats, though he does fine with small dogs and, with very slow introductions, large ones as well. Patience and consistency will help Hardy decompress and thrive with new people. If you’re looking for a smart, quirky companion who’s happiest in a home with routines, Hardy could be your next sidekick. Make his wait worth it—he’s more than ready for the right person.
