About Portia
Portia is a 45-pound, four-year-old golden pit bull terrier with a sunny spirit and a big heart. Since losing her owner, she’s been looking for a fresh start and someone to share adventures with. She’s energetic, eager to hop in the car, and always up for play. Portia revels in snuggle time and thrives on affection—her trusting, friendly nature puts everyone at ease. While she hasn’t lived with kids, her gentle temperament points to her being a good fit for a family. She’s also lived with other dogs and got along, though she can resource guard food and toys, so any introductions should be managed thoughtfully. Because of this, she’s best suited as an only dog in the home. Portia hasn’t been around cats and may not mesh well with them. She’s currently being fostered near Silver Spring, MD, and is looking for a committed adopter ready to help her settle in and thrive. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
