About Mochi
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Meet Mochi! She is a 6-year-old mixed Shiba Inu and Corgi who had a rough start to life, originally rescued from the harsh conditions of a dog meat farm in South Korea. These facilities are notorious for their poor treatment of dogs, who endure cramped living quarters and are often used for breeding or sold for meat. Thankfully, thanks to dedicated rescue teams, Mochi was given a second chance at life and brought to the United States three years ago, where she was adopted into a loving home. Unfortunately, her family’s changing circumstances have brought her back in search of another home, as she isn't well suited for living with infants due to a sleep-startle reflex related to her past trauma and prefers to be left alone when eating. Mochi is an outgoing and adventurous pup who is most in her element exploring new places and going on hikes. While she looks bigger in her photos, she is actually a petite 22-pounder. She is house-trained, understands basic commands, heels well on walks, and is quite responsive to food rewards, making her a quick learner. Mochi is still getting the hang of play, often looking to confident canine companions to teach her how to have fun, so a home with another well-adjusted dog is ideal. Her favorite moments are cruising in the car to new trailheads or keeping watch in the backyard, where she’ll happily spend hours tracking squirrels and lizards. At home, Mochi is independent but also enjoys moments of affection with those she loves, leaning in for cuddles when she’s in the mood. She thrives on routine, daily activity, and having free access to a secure yard. Mochi is a very special survivor who is ready for a gentle, understanding adopter to help her continue blossoming. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Mochi
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Shiba Inu/Corgi mixes generally do well in homes that provide a balance of indoor comfort and secure outdoor space. They are adaptable and can thrive in both houses with fenced yards and larger apartments, as long as their exercise needs are met.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A medium-sized, securely fenced yard is ideal for a Shiba Inu/Corgi mix, but regular walks and trips to parks can also help them expend energy if a yard isn't available.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Both Shiba Inu and Corgi breeds can be good with children, especially when properly socialized, but supervision is always recommended, particularly with younger children, due to their energetic nature.
