Walt
AvailableWalt is a male Redbone Coonhound in his adult years, currently being cared for at the Lake County Animal Shelter. He is considered medium-sized and has been spayed/neutered. Walt is looking for a patient adopter who can provide a calm and gentle environment as he continues to build his confidence.
About Walt
Click apply to start the adoption process. Walt is a shy, sensitive boy who has made wonderful progress since his arrival at the shelter. In the beginning, he was extremely fearful of people and unsure in his new environment, but with gentle handling and the steady friendship of his yard buddy, Wilson, Walt has slowly started to blossom. He is now learning that people can be safe, and he is beginning to reveal his sweet, cautious personality to those he trusts. Walt will need adopters who understand that confidence in a dog like him takes time. He thrives best in calm spaces, values predictability in daily routines, and does well when allowed to approach at his own pace. Sudden noises and fast movements can still be overwhelming for Walt, so a home without children would be most suitable for him. What Walt needs most is a quiet place, a compassionate heart, and someone dedicated to guiding him on his journey from fear to trust. If you are seeking a gentle soul to nurture and help grow, Walt may just be the perfect match. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
