About Franklin
Franklin is an eight-year-old Champagne English Lab who spent most of his life isolated in a shed before being rescued, but heās still gentle and deeply loyal. A true companion, Franklin weighs about 82 pounds and is fully house trained, never destructive, and walks beautifully on leash. He does best with some extra helpāhis back legs need support due to arthritis, so a single-story home with carpet is ideal, preferably with someone strong enough to lend him a hand if he needs it. Franklin prefers a mellow lifestyle, enjoying short strolls, plush squeaky toys, and long naps close to his person. Heās a classic Velcro dog who follows you room to room and sleeps through the night, even curled up at your side if you let him. Grooming is easy with him; Franklin handles nail trims, baths, and brushing calmly, and heās so relaxed he has dozed off during bath time. Heās gentle with children, calm around parrots, and does well with a submissive canine companion. He takes treats softly, is eager to learn, and is already picking up new cues like āComeā and āStay.ā Franklin needs a loving, attentive homeāideally with someone retired or working from homeāwhere he can spend his golden years surrounded by comfort and kindness.
