About King James
Start your journey together! Apply now. King James, affectionately known as KJ, has proven to be a resilient and loving dog at just 7 years old. Having overcome a difficult past that included surviving a gunshot wound, KJ has made a full recovery and is now looking for his forever home. He adapts well to routine and would thrive in a calm, quieter environment where he can enjoy life at a comfortable, medium energy pace. KJ greets those he trusts with a big, toothy smile and plenty of personality. While he may be a bit slow to warm up to new people, his loyal and goofy side shines through with those he gets to know. He's fond of car rides and leisurely walks, making him a great companion for someone seeking a steadfast friend. This charming boy does best in a cat-free home and has shown positive interactions with medium-sized female dogs, as well as easygoing male dogs of a similar size. Since he can be cautious around new faces, a family with older children would be most compatible for KJ. King James comes neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, and his adoption includes a complimentary obedience class in Hiawatha. The rescue requires indoor living, up-to-date care, and meet-and-greets for homes with other animals. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
