Meet Sasha, a sweet and expressive medium-sized mix of Bearded Collie and German Shepherd Dog in Phoenix, AZ. Sasha forms deep bonds and thrives on feeling safe and secure. Once she warms up, her loyalty and affectionate nature really shine—she prefers to settle nearby and will gladly offer plenty of kisses and cuddles in her own way. Sometimes she jumps up excitedly to greet those she loves, so expect a burst of happy energy when you walk through the door. Always up for a good game of fetch or a run in wide-open spaces, Sasha enjoys toys and would do best with a yard to burn off energy. Although she once enjoyed playing with other dogs, she’s happiest these days focusing her playfulness with her trusted humans. She is housetrained, crate trained, and loves routines that help her feel comfortable and settled. Sasha isn’t leash trained and does pull, so patience and positive training will matter for walks and outings. She does well with children she knows (ages 5 and up), though new faces can make her a bit unsure. Sasha’s look is made even more endearing by her white paws and a prancing gait, while the bit of her left ear that’s missing tells the story of her resilience. Through no fault of her own, she’s most at ease as the only pet and is currently stressed by other dogs or cats. Loud noises or strangers passing by—as well as unfamiliar men—may prompt barking and alertness, but her protectiveness is rooted in vulnerability and a desire for stability. Sasha sometimes experiences ongoing anxiety from past experiences, pacing or staying vigilant, but she’s made real progress with reassuring routines and patience. She needs an understanding, active adopter who can give her space and help her confidence keep growing. In return, Sasha will offer deep love, playful spirit, and devotion to her people.
